An often debated subject is how many pages you should use; with the information/technology field, length cannot be simply cut off at one page because it depends on your work experience. If you are just starting your career, one page will probably be enough to highlight your past positions, but if you are a twenty-year veteran of the field or a contractor who has had a great deal of short-term assignments, you may need two or even three pages to fully cover your experience.
In today‘s tough job market, your best bet in landing an IT career may rest on using an IT resume template. They are very useful in writing or rewriting your information/technology resume; they offer you a starting point from which you can show off your skills by presenting them in an easy to read format. Because employment is scarce, you should always put your best foot forward. People tend to drown their resumes in mistakes that can turn off potential employers. Always take the time necessary to present yourself on paper as a first-class candidate.
